1. Overview

LlamaMail is a local-first email client that runs on your device.

Your emails, contacts, calendar data, attachments, tokens, settings, and synced content are handled locally on your device or communicated directly with providers you connect. LlamaMail does not save, fetch, update, sync, or store this data on LlamaMail servers.

2. Information We Process

• Email metadata such as sender, recipient, subject, and timestamps.
• Email content and attachments.
• Account profile information.
• Contacts and address book data.
• Calendar data.
• Authentication tokens or session credentials.
• App settings and preferences.
• Optional local diagnostic information stored only on your device for troubleshooting.
• Notification metadata.

3. How Information Is Used

• Display and organize your messages locally.
• Send, receive, archive, label, and manage email.
• Show notifications.
• Sync contacts and calendars.
• Maintain sessions and provider connections.
• Improve reliability, security, and performance.
• Diagnose bugs and crashes.

4. Local Storage

LlamaMail may store cached data, settings, tokens, and synced content locally on your device only. You are responsible for securing your device and user account.

5. Provider Connections & OAuth

When you connect providers such as Google, Microsoft, IMAP, Exchange, CalDAV, CardDAV, or similar services, your data remains subject to those providers’ own policies.

For OAuth-based providers such as Google or Microsoft, LlamaMail may use an external authentication server for secure verification and token renewal only.

No emails, contacts, calendar content, attachments, or synced account data are stored on LlamaMail servers as part of this process.

6. Data Sharing

LlamaMail does not sell your personal data.

LlamaMail does not transmit your personal content to LlamaMail servers except where a separately enabled optional feature is clearly disclosed in advance.

7. Retention

Data remains on your device unless you remove it or your connected provider stores it under that provider’s own systems and policies.

8. No Tracking or Telemetry

LlamaMail does not track your usage, behavior, clicks, message activity, device activity, analytics events, or personal habits.

LlamaMail does not send analytics, telemetry, crash reports, diagnostics, or background monitoring data to LlamaMail servers.

9. Security

Reasonable measures are used to protect data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updated versions should include a revised effective date.
